Erläuterung:
Klaus Rabien.
All illustrating pictures on the main pages on this website come from Klaus Rabien/ Berlin, photographed in 2007.
Always on the lookout for the ‘right moment’, the decisive second in a fleeting motion, the list of prominent dancers (e.g. Ismael Ivo, Gregor Seifert, Bianca Li) and ensemble productions portrayed by him has become almost endless.
His photographs have been internationally published and exhibited as well as featured in European leading dance magazine BalletTANZ.
Apart from contemporary oriental dance, Rabiens love belongs to flamenco and oriental dance – and so it was only a question of time before Raksan and he would meet.
For the 2000 January edition of the renowned photography publication Brennpunkt, simple black-and-white pictures were taken, reduced to and focusing solely on expression and motion – an intense collaboration of two artists which has continued over the years to change the image of oriental dance conveyed to the general public.
In the gallery you will also find pictures by FOGU Rainer Gutzemer, recordings of the German premiere of the solo piece “Raksan tanzt! 46 Minuten” as part of the show “Raksahne” performed in the International Theatre in Frankfurt in October ’07 as well as images from the opening event of the ORIENTALE 07 in the Tanzhaus NRW, photographed by Anja Alice Nelk.
